Ecolint Alumni Web Community
The Alumni Office and the Ecolint Alumni Web Community are maintained by Ecolint so that the thousands of alumni spread across the world can be kept informed and offered opportunities to communicate, network and support fellow alumni and the school.

There is no membership fee associated with joining our web community. The only requirement is that you attended, taught at or worked for Ecolint for a period of time.

You, our alumni, not only hold the memory and spirit of Ecolint in trust; you can also greatly impact the future of the Foundation . Alumni are voting members of the Foundation; they can contribute time, expertise and, in some cases, financial resources to important initiatives.

By joining our web community you allow us to learn more about our alumni, to share that information with the wider Ecolint community, and to demonstrate the significant and positive impact that an Ecolint education brings.

What about the Alumni Association?

The Alumni Association of the International School of Geneva was created in 1935 and continues to exist to this day as an association established under the Swiss Civil Code. It was created to serve as a worldwide link among Ecolint alumni, aiming to " contribute to perpetuate the ideals of tolerance, understanding and co-operation among people of different nations, in accordance with the Foundation of the International School of Geneva's own tradition ".

A Memorandum of Understanding (PDF) established between Ecolint and the Alumni Association in November 2004 sets out clearly the close relationship between the two, and formally established Ecolint's commitment to maintaining an Alumni Relations Programme within the Foundation.

The Central Committee of the Alumni Association meets in Geneva on a regular basis and holds its General Assembly in June of each year. Registered members of the web community can access the minutes of the General Assembly and other documents here .

Four good reasons to join our community...

1. Keep informed

With your email and postal address we can keep you informed about developments at Ecolint and within the alumni community; you'll receive email newsletters from time to time and you will also receive echo magazine in the post twice per year.

2. Reconnect

While anyone can search our Member Directory, only registered members can access the contact details that will allow you to reconnect with former classmates and teachers.

3. Refresh your memory

Only registered members have access to our online Yearbooks, photographs from past reunions and graduations, and other content on a wander down Ecolint's "Memory Lane" .

4. Attend events

Ecolint's schools, the Alumni Office, the Alumni Association and our local chapters around the world organise a variety of events throughout the year that our alumni can attend. You will only hear about - and in some cases register to attend - these events if you join our web community.

The official site

The official Ecolint Alumni Web Community (where you are currently reading this text, at alumni.ecolint.ch ) is managed and maintained under the responsibility of the Foundation's Development Office. An entirely independent website is maintained by Richard McMullen (LGB '76) at the address alumni.ecolint.net. Please note that the latter site is not endorsed by Ecolint; any financial contributions made via Mr. McMullen's site do not go towards either the Foundation's activities or the formal Alumni Association.
