Answers

1. HOW DO I REGISTER?

Simply complete the online registration form. We'll review your details and confirm your registration by email.


2. HOW WILL YOU USE MY CONTACT DETAILS?

Your contact details - but not your street address - will be visible to other registered members (but not to search engines). During registration you can elect to hide specific details, and you can change these settings at any time by signing in and selecting  " Manage Profile > Edit Bio ".  

We require your full postal address so that we can send you the echo magazine twice per year and, from time to time, other printed materials. Knowing where you live will also allow us to inform you about events in your area. We will not share your contact details with any external person or organisation without your permission.


3. WHY DO YOU REQUIRE MY BIRTH DATE?

This is a key detail to ensure that we identify you correctly and match you with the correct file in our archives. You can choose to hide this information from other members (see above).


4. I'VE FORGOTTEN MY USERNAME/PASSWORD. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Click here - or on the link below the Sign In button - and enter your email address. A link to reset your password will be sent to you. The system will confirm your username after you choose your new password .

5. HOW DO I CHANGE MY USERNAME/PASSWORD?

You need to sign in to the website and, under the Manage Profile box on the right hand side, select "My Profile > Edit Bio". You can change both your Username and Password on this page.


6. HOW DO I UPDATE MY PROFILE?

Sign in to the website and, under the Manage Profile box on the right hand side, select "My Profile > Edit Bio".


7. HOW DO I CALCULATE AND/OR CHANGE MY CLASS YEAR?

Sign in to the website and, under the Manage Profile box on the right hand side, select "Groups".
Under "Primary Group Management" you can select the correct year and click on Update. If you registered under the wrong campus please contact the Alumni Office: alumni@ecolint.ch

While you can only be a member of one "Primary Group" (i.e. Class Year group), you have access to all other groups.

For consistency we apply our current 13-year IB cycle to all alumni, regardless of when you attended the school or for how long. You can calculate your Class Year as follows :

13 minus FINAL CLASS NUMBER plus YEAR OF DEPARTURE = CLASS YEAR
e.g. For someone who left after completing Year 8 in 1968: (13-8) +1968 = Class of 1973

If you're not certain of the details you should identify the group that contains most of your classmates and join that one. View the members of each year group here.


8. HOW DO I JOIN A CHAPTER AND/OR SPECIALITY GROUP?

Sign in to the website and, under the "Community" menu item, select "Chapters" or "LGB '58-'64 Group" (which is the only speciality group currently active). When you reach the homepage of the chapter/group click on "Join Group" at the top of the page.

9. HOW DO I QUICKLY ACCESS THE HOMEPAGE OF MY CLASS GROUP OR CHAPTER?

Sign in to the website and, in the "My Profile" box on the right hand side, select Groups. Click on the name of a group or chapter to jump to its homepage.


10. HOW DO I SEARCH FOR OR CONTACT A FORMER CLASSMATE?

It's best to sign in to the website first, as you will only have access to contact details when signed in. Under the "Community" menu item select " Classmate Search ".

In your search results, registered site members will appear in blue text and you can access any contact details they have chosen to share.


11. HOW DO I SEND AN EMAIL TO ALL MEMBERS OF MY CLASS YEAR OR CHAPTER?

Sign in to the website and click on "Groups" in the "Manage Profile" box on the right hand side. Hover over the Tools  icon - - and select the option to "Email All Group Members".


12. WHY AM I IDENTIFIED AS A "LOST MEMBER"?

This means that you are in our database but your record has not been updated for a considerable time or, for some reason, we have only minimal information about you and no valid contact details. You are invited to register as a member so that we can ensure your details are up to date.


13. I HAVE INFORMATION ABOUT A LOST MEMBER. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

You can either complete the form accessible by clicking on the "Do you have information on...?" link in the Lost Members listing, or simply send an email to alumni@ecolint.ch .


14. HOW DO I START OR REACTIVATE A CHAPTER OR SPECIALITY GROUP?

If the chapter or group is already listed on the website you should first try contacting the person listed as the main contact. They will welcome any offer to contribute to the group.
