32. Tracey Nicholls (LGB 1980)

Posted By Alumni Office, jeudi 2 octobre 2014
Tracey Nicholls1. How long did you spend at Ecolint?
Seven years (7th to 13th grade).

2. How did you come to attend Ecolint in the first place?
We arrived in Geneva 1968 from Holland. I did my primary schooling at CDL and then was transferred to 7th grade in LGB because of the IB.

3. Which teacher had the biggest impact on you and how?
I had a lot of great teachers and don’t want to have to choose; I do however have a special thought for Mr. Whitehurst – he was fun, understanding, human and fairplay and I was really sad when I heard he had passed away with his wife.

4. What was your favourite spot on campus and why?
The bench opposite the entrance to the cafeteria: three places on the bench and we could watch the whole world go by.

5. What was your favourite place in the wider region, and why?
The lake and the Alps: swimming and pedalos in the summer months and skiing in the winter months.

6. Describe your life today, where you live and what you do.
I still live and work here and am very close to LGB – it is within easy walking distance. I got married here, had my son here and I became Swiss in 1987 by choice (NOT by marriage!).

7. What should be Ecolint's top priority as it approaches its 100th anniversary?
Make the most of the fantastic opportunity you have – work towards peace – we can all work together.

8. What "words of wisdom" would you pass on to today's Ecolint students?
Cherish your friendships; believe in yourself and be thankful that you were part of Ecolint life.

9. What has been the biggest impact of your Ecolint education on your life?
Learning in a multicultural environment; seeing the world with a different outlook.
