Jenny Buffle (Rigot, LGB & Foundation 1982-2003)

Posted By Alumni Office, mercredi 18 février 2015

1. When did you work at the International School of Geneva and what was/were your role(s)?
I began working at Ecolint in 1982 as a part-time secretary in Rigot, transferring from there to LGB as assistant to Mrs. Wakenshaw in the Alumni office. From there I moved to Les Marronniers and spent two years as part-time receptionist/secretary before joining the Director General’s team in 1992. I remained in the post of DG’s assistant until my retirement in 2003, also working closely with the Governing Board.

2. Describe your life today, where you live and what you do.
I am now retired and living in Commugny where I enjoy the gentler pace of life with time for gardening, walking, painting and occasional trips abroad.

3. What are your strongest memories of working at Ecolint?
The incredible energy and teamwork that are involved in the running of an instituion as complex as Ecolint – the hidden part of the iceberg under the water! I feel very privileged to have worked with some remarkable people and to have had a ‘behind the scenes’ view of it all.

4. To what extent do you like to keep in touch with former students and colleagues?
Sadly, having been in a somewhat invisible administrative role, I never had much contact with the students but I do like to meet up occasionally with former colleagues.
