Going old school with the La Chât vintage range
lundi 16 janvier 2017
Following the launch last year of a range of clothing featuring the old Ecolint logo, we're now pleased to add to the collection items bearing the classic La Chât logo. These vintage ranges are available from our store on the print-to-order site Zazzle.
The Ecolint sweatshirts and t-shirts have proved very popular, with more than 180 individual items ordered since their launch last August. We hope that the new range will prove just as popular with our La Chât alumni.
While La Châtaigneraie became part of the International School of Geneva in the mid-70s, it was only around the 90s that the term Ecolint was commonly used to refer to the whole foundation. Before that (and still today for many alumni of that era!), Ecolint referred to La Grande Boissière, which was very distinct from La Chât. We were not surprised, therefore, to receive requests to create a vintage La Chât range!
Pen and Letraset
The logo featured on the new sweatshirts and t-shirts was designed in the 70s by Alison Monks-Plackett, who was Head of Arts at La Chât from 1976 to 1987. She told us recently that she created the design using pen and Letraset on cartridge paper. We're grateful to Alison for her advice on this project and to alumnus Denis Savoie (La Chât '87) for creating a version of the original artwork that was suitable for creating the products on Zazzle.
Later this year, the Alumni Association and the Alumni Office will promote the first international "Wear your Ecolint T-shirt" day, coinciding with the birthday of the Foundation, on 17 September. There'll be more information about the occasion closer to the date, but you're advised to make sure you order your chosen items in good time!
The La Chât vintage items can be ordered now. Note that the colours and styles can be customized easily on the website - the possibilities are endless!
