Singapore escaladers gather at Swiss Club
mercredi 1 février 2017
Ecolint alumni gathered in Singapore for a third time to celebrate the Escalade on 7 December. The occasion included the traditional marmite-smashing and hearty singing. Tara Thivolet (LGB '91) coordinated the event with the help of Lara Zomout (LGB '86), who made it possible to hold it at Singapore's Swiss Club. Tara sent us the following report and pictures:
“We hosted dinner at the beautiful Swiss Club, where Lara had organised a local Swiss menu for us all. As always, we walked down memory lane together and had fun reminiscing about our days at Ecolint.
The highlight was the breaking of the marmite, done with brio and strength by Marleen Swager (La Chât ’96) and Lara. We were a little rusty with our singing, but still managed to sing Cé qu’è lainô and Ah! La Belle Escalade. We had a few unfortunate last-minute cancellations - we hope they will be able to join us next year! Thanks again to the Alumni Office for sending the marmite!”
The attendees were: Marleen Swager (La Chât ’96), Tara Thivolet (LGB ’91), Ilona Tar (LGB ’90) and her husband Ben, Lara Zoumut (LGB ’86), Krystina Lyon (LGB ’76), Raphael Dana (LGB ’92), and Isabelle Siry (who did not attend Ecolint, but whose mother, Agneta, worked for many years with the Alumni Association.)
