Margaret Millett-Fowler, one of Ecolint's very first students, died on 19 January 2017, at her retirement home in Switzerland. Margaret was enrolled by her mother when the school opened its doors in 1924 and would have celebrated her 103rd birthday on 8 March.

After spending seven years at Ecolint, Margaret left for London, where she attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. She went on to become an accomplished poet.

The Alumni Office interviewed Margaret for echo magazine back in 2009, inviting her to share memories and reflections about her time at Ecolint. Speaking about the influence her schooling in Geneva had on her life, she mentioned the diversity of the student body as being a key factor.

"It gave me an openness of mind and the facility to get on with strangers with differing opinions. I am more tolerant and can readily accept what others think. Although culturally I consider myself English, Switzerland is my home as I only briefly lived in England. I speak five languages and have lived in eleven different countries."
