Ecolint Connect is our new eMentoring platform, allowing alumni to both request and offer career-related advice from other alumni. It uses software provided by Aluminati Network Group and is integrated with our Ecolint Alumni Community website for registration and sign-in.
For now, the platform is open only to alumni. The longer term plan is to extend access to current Y12 and Y13 students who, via their Guidance Counsellors, will be able to request advice from alumni who have relevant experience.
As a mentor, you complete a highly structured profile – a task made much simpler with the option of importing data directly from your LinkedIn profile – ensuring you feel confident about participating within your capacity. Mentees are then able to find and request specific interactions, such as arranging a phone call, asking for advice on an application or CV, or even requesting work experience/shadowing.
Mentors remain in complete control of their involvement by being able to specify exactly which services they offer and the number of mentees they can accept simultaneously. The system ensures that mentors are not inundated with requests.
Ecolint Connect was launched in March 2017, with a first wave of invitations to more experienced members of our community who may be more likely to register as mentors, to be later followed by an invitation to younger alumni who may seek to become mentees.
