20. Sarah Arnd Linder (La Chât 2004)

Posted By Alumni Office, lundi, 15 septembre 2014
Sarah Arnd Linder1. How long did you spend at Ecolint?
One year in La Grande Boissière and three years in La Châtaigneraie.

2. How did you come to attend Ecolint in the first place?
My mother worked at the Danish Mission to the UN.

3. Which teacher had the biggest impact on you and how?
Mrs. Harrison, Mle Caudet and Mr. Heery.

4. What was your favourite spot on campus and why?
La Ferme, because that is where I had my first voice lessons and where I rehearsed with Downflower (as bass player) and Short 4 Richard (as singer), and it was a cute house with a good atmosphere. :)

5. What was your favourite place in the wider region, and why?
Divonne. I lived in Chavannes de Bogis, and on many of the weekends, my family and I would take a small trip to Divonne, often on Sundays to visit the market. Divonne is also a very beautiful city, which I visited two years ago on a trip to Switzerland and France.

6. Describe your life today, where you live and what you do.
I live in Tel Aviv, Israel, where I have lived for eight years. I work as a Legal Analyst at Moroccanoil. I have also worked in diverse non-profits, and I am considering going back to this field, probably doing something of my own. I have a Bachelor in Government, Diplomacy and Strategy with majors in Conflict Resolution and International Affairs and a MA in Middle Eastern History with classical Arabic.

7. What should be Ecolint's top priority as it approaches its 100th anniversary?
To stay the way it is :)

8. What "words of wisdom" would you pass on to today's Ecolint students?

Enjoy your high school, because it's a great time, and Ecolint is a great school. Take as much wisdom as possible from your teachers, make friendships for life and appreciate the unique education you are getting, because it is unique indeed.

9. What has been the biggest impact of your Ecolint education on your life?
I gained so much from all my teachers and the classes, and the IB is a lot tougher than my studies at university. It has made me understood what a unique education it is at high school level. The international community at Ecolint also taught me a lot about tolerance and empathy, something not to be taken for granted, and some of my best friends today I gained from La Châtaigneraie. It might sound kitschy, but I really am grateful for my time at La Châtaigneraie. Great place.
