1. What is your company’s product/service?
YIELD is the Youth Institute for Excellence in Leadership Development, focusing on young people in the age range of 18 to 24 years. It was founded as a not-for-profit organization, aspiring to make the world a better place by accelerating the leadership development of young people. It complements the offering at schools, universities and other means by which young people learn about leadership.

Our vision is to contribute to a significant increase in the number of leaders who are driven by purpose, meaning and vision. In 2017 YIELD will run a month-long youth leadership development programme in both Geneva, Switzerland and Cape Town, South Africa.

2. Where was it founded and where do you now have offices?
YIELD was founded in Chavannes-de-Bogis, Switzerland.

3. Number of employees at peak (and now)?
We are three founders and currently work with a network of eight associates.

4. What was the hardest thing about building the company?
The nature of our offering implies a diverse target market, i.e. potential participants (young leaders aged 18-24), their parents, educators and sponsors. Reaching them has proven to be much harder than originally envisaged.

5. Where do you see your company in three years?
In three years we aspire to have established ourselves solidly in Switzerland and South Africa as well as having expanded into other countries. In addition it is our aspiration to influence how leadership is taught to young people.

6. Do any other Ecolint alumni work with you?

7. In what ways (if any!) did your Ecolint experience help you in founding a company?
As the father of three Ecolint Alumni as well as former Chairman, Treasurer and Member of the Board of Ecolint, the schools of the Foundation and their approach have always inspired me to make a further contribution to the education of young people.
