The International School of Geneva is celebrating its 90th anniversary throughout this school year. As part of the celebrations, Ecolint Director General Vicky Tuck is visiting alumni in a number of cities in Europe and North America.

In London on Tuesday 3 February she will host a drinks reception at the Ayyam Gallery on New Bond Street. The Ayyam Gallery was founded by Ecolint alumnus Khaled Samawi (LGB '83) and we are grateful to him for making it available to us for this special event.

All alumni based in and around London are welcome to attend this event. Please indicate you intention to attend by clicking the REGISTER button above. (You will need to sign in to the website first.)

We invite you to take advantage of this opportunity to catch up with former classmates (and teachers) and meet with other alumni living in the region. Mrs Tuck, who will deliver a short speech, is looking forward to meeting and talking with as many alumni as possible. We're delighted she will be introduced by former Director General George Walker, who is now chair of the UK Friends of the International School of Geneva.

The Venue

Founded in Damascus in 2006, Ayyam Gallery is recognised as a leading cultural voice in the region, representing a roster of Middle Eastern artists with an international profile and museum presence. Spaces in Beirut, Dubai, Jeddah, and London have further succeeded in showcasing the work of Middle Eastern artists with the aim of educating a wider audience about the art of this significant region.

During February, Ayyam's London space will host Landmarks, the solo show of leading Syrian painter Thaier Helal. In addition to serving as the artist’s first exhibition in the United Kingdom, the event will coincide with the European launch of a new monograph on the artist.

A leading figure in contemporary Syrian art, Thaier Helal’s large mixed media works are considered at the forefront of contemporary abstraction in the Middle East. Read more about the artist and Landmarks here.

Ayyam Gallery London is located on New Bond Street, in a first floor space.
