Around 80 Ecolint alumni gathered in London last night to mark the 90th anniversary of the Foundation. The event was held at the Ayyam Gallery, generously made available by its founder Khaled Samawi (LGB '83).

Ecolint's Director General Vicky Tuck was present to meet and speak with alumni as part of a short European tour that also takes in events in Paris and Amsterdam. In April she will visit New York, Boston and Washington DC for further anniversary celebrations with alumni.

Her speech at last night's event in London was introduced by a former Director General of the Foundation, George Walker. Both Mrs Tuck and Prof Walker emphasised the school's mission of Education for Peace, which they regard as being more relevant than ever in today's world.

Attendees were drawn from many generations of Ecolint alumni, from those who were at school in the 1950s right up to last year's graduates. It was particularly heartening to see such a wide range of ages, with all three of Ecolint's campuses also represented.

A small selection of photos is presented below, with a more complete gallery available to members of our Alumni Web Community. (Former students and staff can create an account here.) To view the list of those who registered to attend the event, click here.

Name badges helped to jog the memory when required!

The works of leading Syrian painter Thaier Helal provided a stunning backdrop.
