Julie RobinsonJulie Robinson, who worked for many years as a classroom assistant in Ecolint's Early Years programme, died after a short illness last Friday 13 November 2015 in hospital in Thonon. She was 78 years old.

We extend our condolences to her husband Arthur, former head of the maths department at both LGB and La Châtaigneraie, and to her children Huw (LGB '90) and Wendy (LGB '92).

Julie worked for around 15 years at the school, first at the annex in La Gradelle and later at Les Marronniers Primary School. For most of that time she worked alongside former teacher Adair Stevenson, who wrote about how much she cherished their years together.

"She was my right hand, attentive to the needs of the children we taught, caring and discreet, respectful towards children and parents as well as colleagues. Well loved by many, she retired and I missed her. We kept a close friendship… she will live in my heart forever."

Among others that have paid tribute to her, former LGB head of chemistry Eric Anthony, sharing the sad news in an alumni Facebook group, said "I remember her with great affection. She was a lovely, kind, generous lady."

Memorial Service

A memorial service, to which all of her former colleagues and students are invited, will take place on Thursday 26 November at 13h in Geneva's Holy Trinity Church.

A private service and cremation is taking place today, 20 November, in Bonneville and her ashes will be scattered later in Wales.
