The Geneva Escalade Dinner had been cancelled for the past two years for one reason or another, so we were pleased last night to get the ball rolling again on this previously very popular event.

A total of thirteen people dined at the Restaurant le Grand-Chêne, just up the road from La Grande Boissière. It was a mix of alumni of various eras, plus a number of retired teachers. And a fun time was had by all!

The former staff in attendance were Frank Lunt ('09), Carol Lunt ('89), Kay Diethelm ('99), Dorothy Stevenson ('03), Michael Rowe ('11) and Eliane Hpay ('00). They were joined by the following former students: Peter Hachfeld (LGB '08), Anna Szabados (LGB '90), Gisela Vargas (LGB '90, recently elected chair of the Alumni Association Central Committee), Karin Raton (LGB '70), N.S. (La Chât '99) and Pascal Bolomet (LGB & La Chât '84). Ecolint's head of alumni relations Eoghan O'Sullivan was also present.

The next event in Geneva, set to be attended by considerably more alumni, is the return of the B.E.E.R. pre-Christmas gathering next Thursday 17 December at Mr. Pickwick. More information here and on Facebook.

The marmite-smashers were Eliane Hpay and Peter Hachfeld.
