The newest issue of echo - the magazine we send twice a year to current parents and alumni on our mailing list - has been published and sent out around the globe. You can read it online here

In this edition's cover story, we meet alumnus Shanta Devarajan (LGB '71), Senior Director for Development Economics at the World Bank, and speaker at the 2017 Campus des Nations Graduation. Shanta, who challenged students to use their unique education to empower those less fortunate than them, tells us of his time at Ecolint.

We also read about Ecolint's several initiatives to become more environmentally friendly and sustainable. From efforts to put an end to single-use plastics at La Châtaigneraie, to raising awareness with LGB students on the link between consumption and the environment, sending old bicycles to be recycled in South Africa, and cultivating groups of young eco-heroes at Pregny, Ecolint is truly going green.

The art of the possible

For our recurring series about alumni active in a particular profession, we turn this time to the world of politics. We meet Richard Corbett (LGB '73), the Labour Party leader in the European Parliament, and Bob Rae (LGB '66), former Premier of Ontario, and currently Canada's special envoy to Myanmar.  Indira Gandhi is also profiled, as one of Ecolint's most prominent alumna involved in politics.

Ecolint dynasties

It's often said "Once Ecolint, always Ecolint," and for some, Ecolint is a real family affair. This story looks at two families for whom the school has played a central role: the Pasternaks and the Dorsays.

There and back again

Our regular feature on alumni who later come back to the school to teach, introduces us to Ian Bentzen, who graduated from La Chât in 2001 and is now a Learning Support teacher at LGB; and Marie-Eve Levi, who graduated from LGB in 1979 and now teaches English at La Châtaigneraie.

Ecolint's star quality

Our school archivist explores a major - but sometimes overlooked - category in our Ecolint community: the parents. In this article, we discover the many Hollywood stars who sent their children to Ecolint.

And much more...

Other articles that may be of interest include an overview of some of the guest speakers that graced Ecolint last year with their wisdom and experiences, a collection of touching (and sometimes humourous!) words from staff who retired this past summer, and a reflection on the annual trip to Kenya organized for La Chât students.

We publish echo twice per year. It is sent to the parents of all current students and to all alumni for whom we have a valid postal address. If you would like to receive it by post, please create a user account for this website. Register here.
