London Calling - Alumni Version

The British Film Institute reception hall was basking in the Ecolint Spirit last Thursday, 24 May, as a group of thirty London-based alumni came together to meet Ecolint's Director General, David Hawley.

Much like he did for Geneva-based alumni in April, David Hawley presented his vision for Ecolint's future, detailing his desire for centering on and bettering the student experience, opening up socio-economic diversity at Ecolint through a bursary programme, and starting an endowment to ensure a financially healthy future for the school in the long-term.

The ensuing Q&A between David and alumni was ripe with enthusiastic ideas and recommendations on how alumni could support these efforts, making for a rich exchange and an atmosphere of solid rallying around the vision for Ecolint.

Alumni were delighted to reconnect with one another, trading old stories and memories, and catching up with one another's daily lives. A wide range of Ecolint's graduation classes were represented, going from the 1950s to the 2010s, with people coming in from all over London, Oxford, and beyond, with one alumnus trekking all the way down from Norwich (hats off to you, Ian Kemp!).

This was David Hawley's second stop on his Alumni tour, which he plans to wrap up in the Fall with a visit to the East-Coast of the United States.

If you are interested in or wish to get involved with the bursary programme, which is called the Ecolint Universal Learner Passport Scholarships, please follow this link.
