Glimpses from the LGB Kermesse

Sunshine, pim's, the traditional alumni vs students football game, live music, old yearbooks to browse through,  and an abundance of exotic foods - all the ingredients were gathered to make this year's LGB kermesse a great success, and a day filled with happy memories for the many alumni and former teachers who stopped by the Alumni tent.

In addition to the usual suspects one finds at the LGB Kermesse (the likes of Eric and Sue Anthony, Frank Lunt, Michael Rowe, John Phillips, etc), a few new faces made their way to the tent, namely Anders Renlund from Sweden, who hadn't been to the campus since he graduated in 1965, and Cécile Reifenberg, an LGB '64 alumna whose mother was the Head of the Internat for several years. Both expressed how glad they were to reconnect with old friends and reflect on how much Ecolint had shaped their lives.

Kermesse pillars John Phillips and Eric Anthony; and newcomer Anders Renlund catching up on lost time with Sue Anthony.

The traditional alumni vs students football game was a lively one, with a tight final score of 6-5, for the students team. When you know the alumni team was down 0-3 at half-time, the end result deserves a rowdy round of applause for our fearless (and slightly out-of-breath) alumni!

Two classes celebrated their reunions at the Kermesse this year: the Class of '98, celebrating 20 years, and the Class of '08, celebrating 10 years. Thanks to  Barbara Yermen (LGB '98) and Jenna Gangstead (LGB '08) for coordinating these with the Alumni Office.

Seventy alumni from LGB's Class of '08 showed up for their 10-year reunion on the evening of Kermesse; there's a record to beat!

Next stop: La Chât and Nations Kermesses on Saturday 16 June. Stop by the alumni tent and say hello!
