Ecolint Alumni not only have the right to vote in elections to the Foundation's Governing Board – they can also stand for election. Having an alumni presence on the school's Governing Board reflects and reinforces the important contribution Ecolint's wider community makes to the school's continued success. The board currently counts Andrew Ryan (La Chât '96) among its members.

Ecolint's Governing Board is looking for candidates to run for the next election to the Governing Board which will take place in May 2019. There will be three (3) seats up for election, two seats for a four-year term, one seat for a three-year term (replacement of a resigning member whose mandate would have ended in 2022). Any parent of current or former students, or alumnus/a can run for election, except for Ecolint employees, their family and the Board members who have already served for eight years.

Who is on the Governing Board?
The Governing Board is composed of 12 elected members, 6 appointed members and up to 3 co-opted members. It represents the diverse Ecolint community and the Swiss Cantonal and Federal authorities.

What is the role of the Governing Board?
The Governing Board is the highest authority of the Foundation. It manages the strategic affairs of the Foundation and represents the school externally. It appoints and evaluates the Director General, who is the Chief Executive and the Educational Leader of the Foundation. The Governing Board is the guardian of the School’s mission to provide a high quality international education. It must ensure the security of the Foundation for future generations. It also ensures adherence to the principles of equality and solidarity defined in the Foundation’s Charter. The school exists for the sake of its students and is committed to a continual re-evaluation of their needs in the light of social, economic and cultural change.

What can you expect if you are elected?
Starting 1st September 2019, you will attend regular meetings to contribute directly to the governance of the Foundation. The meetings will be held in French and English. A prior experience in the Foundation’s different bodies, professional expertise, personal skills and experience will bring a real added value to these discussions.

Do you believe you have the makings to be one of our Board Members?
Then please attend the informational meeting on Thursday 17th January 2019 from 12.00 to 14.00, at the Campus des Nations (Grand-Saconnex). During this meeting, you will be informed about the duties and responsibilities of Board members, have the opportunity to discuss your potential candidacy and be able to ask questions. If you want to run for election, this is the first step towards being considered.

Please write to Mrs Véronique d’Auzac at veronique.dauzac@ecolint.ch to sign up for this meeting or ask for any further information.
