New York, New York!

At the end of September 2019, Manhattan witnessed a little celebration of all things Ecolint, as thirty alumni from the 1987-1990 era gathered for a celebration of their alma mater. Taking place in Midtown at the end of the UN's General Assembly, the Reunion took place in a flurry of activity.

The alumni kicked off the event on Friday evening, on the rooftop terrasse of the the Roger Smith Hotel. Toasting to their memories and reconnecting with one another, they continued their evening with an improvised dinner at nearby Restaurant Le Relais de Venise, which is a French entrecôte restaurant whose concept is based on an Ecolint favourite, le Café de Paris in Geneva. A small group then ventured out into the night to play ping-pong, bringing back memories of not-so-long-ago Friday nights out in Genève.

Celebrations continued the following day, with a dinner further downtown. A long table of 30 was set with another delicious French meal for the group to enjoy. The Alumni Office had provided the Ecolint flag, as well as some Ecolint sweathsirts and T-shirts. People exchanged stories about what they doing in and around New York these days, and how Ecolint had influenced their lives. Old friendships were rekindled, and new ones were formed.

In anticipation of the New York escalade dinner, which is set to take place on 14 December 2019 at the usual Le Zie in Chelsea, several discussions were had to see how a New York Chapter might be revived, and how it might contribute to Centennial celebrations for Ecolint in 2024.

Thanks to Hamilton Bunge (LGB '88) and Carrie Eccleston (LGB '90) for organizing such a successful and fun-filled event!
