Antonello joined Ecolint in September 2019, from New York University Abu Dhabi, where he was Executive Director of Advancement & Philanthropy. He is an Italian citizen, who has also lived and worked in Italy, Romania and Switzerland.

Antonello works to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, staff, corporations, foundations and friends for immediate, long-range, and future partnership to advance Ecolint, for critical operations including student aid, faculty support, academic and research programme development, and facilities and infrastructure.
Alumni Community Manager Thaïs Ruegg asks the new Director of Development and Alumni Relations a couple questions:

Why did you chose to come back to Geneva, and what drew you to Ecolint specifically?
Three main things brought me to Ecolint and back to Geneva. First of all, the idea of Ecolint being a beacon for peace and justice. I really believe that education is one of the most powerful ways to make the world a better place. Having the opportunity to join an institution that is leading on this front since 1924 - one that that is successful, values-driven, and capable to innovate - is just amazing!

A second draw was the mix of opportunities that we have in front of us at this crucial time in Ecolint's history. With our centennial celebration just around the corner in 2024, we have the opportunity to celebrate and further propel the impact of Ecolint's mission, which includes advancing pedagogical research and innovation, continuing to ensure Ecolint remains a reference in delivering high quality, inclusive, and international education,  and helping students take an active part in making the world a better place. What an opportunity I have to work with Ecolint’s vast network of Alumni, who are living and contributing to cities and countries around the world, who are agents of connection in an often too-fractured world.

Last but not least the city of Geneva itself was a strong factor in joining Ecolint. It is such a special place in my life, a city that welcomed me and my wife ten years ago, a city where my daughter Sofia Caterina was born seven years ago, and the city where my wife Cristina and I decided to build our “nest” four years ago, choosing to build our house in Vessy, near Carouge.

What are your hopes and dreams for the Ecolint Alumni Community?

Alumni are one of the most important groups in the Ecolint community. They are a testimony of Ecolint’s impact, ambassadors in their home-towns and professional networks, and custodians of our mission and values. The Alumni community is living proof of Ecolint's ability to deliver on its mission consistently for the last 96 years.

My key objective is to continue to build and sustain a lifelong relationship between Ecolint and its alumni, creating more and more opportunities for alumni to be involved in the current and future life of Ecolint. I am planning to develop channels for communication, outreach, and celebration to keep us connected and to foster dialogue. I also want us to identify "high impact" opportunities for Philanthropy together, in order to advance Ecolint and make it stronger.

I would love to hear from you, and capture your suggestions on how Ecolint can continue to serve you. Write me at
