So what did you miss at Groucho Club in London?

Hi everyone,

Thank you to all those who were able to come to our event on June 28th at The Groucho Club. We were around 30 people from the classes of 1959 to 1999 and enjoyed drinks and each other's company for a couple of hours. Several of us continued on to dinner at a nearby restaurant... A few of us hadn't seen each other for over a decade!

Whilst the aim of the evening was to give alumni in London and the surrounding area the chance to catch up with each other, there was a more serious side to proceedings. We were joined by Michaelene Stack, Director of Development to hear about the school internship programme that is being piloted in London and Geneva. The aim is simple: to enable alumni in offering internships to current or graduating students of the school so that students can:

  1) experience first hand a work environment which is of interest to them;

  2) learn from those working in the field; and

  3) appreciate more fully the opportunities which are open to them in a particular sector.

The internship programme is a way which we alumni of the school can enable students to understand the post school academic and professional requirements of a particular sector. Internships open students> ' horizons whilst introducing them to the realities of gaining access to and working in a particular business, industrial or social sector.

For more information about this internship programme please go to the Internship Programme page on our site or contact Michaelene Stack at michaelene.stack@ecolint.ch.

If you are interested in participating or have some feedback for Michaelene, please contact her by the 15th September.

I've also copied those who expressed an interest in UK alumni events. Our next event is likely to be the Escalade dinner in early December. We look forward to seeing more of our fellow alumni at future events and we heartily encourage those of you who have not yet done it to sign up to the new alumni website: <http://alumni.ecolint.ch>.

Many thanks and have a wonderful summer!
