Your Alumni Office is expanding!

In order to improve and grow the services we offer alumni, we are excited to welcome into the Development team our new Head of Alumni Relations, Elizabeth Caumont.

Thaïs Ruegg, after 3 wonderful years of engaging with alumni, is moving into a new role at La Châtaigneraie as a Guidance Counsellor and Communications Campus partner. Under the leadership of Antonello Barbaro, Elizabeth will oversee Ecolint’s alumni engagement strategy and work closely with the new Alumni Community Manager.

Thaïs recently caught up with Elizabeth about what she hopes to bring to our community.

Thaïs: Welcome to Ecolint! What brought you here?

Elizabeth: I grew up in the United States, where I was a “lifer” at Westtown, a Quaker school dedicated to peace education with a very diverse student body - not unlike Ecolint! After working in digital communications in Paris for 5 years, I ended up back at this school to serve as its assistant director of alumni relations.

I loved acting as a bridge builder between the former students and the school and telling stories of how a Westtown education changed their lives. When my family and I decided to relocate to Switzerland, I knew that my calling was to stay in this field and I was thrilled to learn that Ecolint was looking for someone to lead its alumni engagement strategy.

Thaïs: How would you define the role of the Alumni Office?

Elizabeth: The Alumni Office has the incredible privilege of serving such a vibrant, thoughtful and inspiring community of former students. Our mission is to provide opportunities as diverse as you are to reconnect with one another and to make meaningful contributions to contemporary student life.

What will you prioritise in your approach to alumni engagement and communications?

My main priority is to add value to your experience as an Ecolint alum and create a sense of unity while honouring your impressive diversity. Listening to and personally connecting with as many alumni as possible will be the cornerstone of this approach. I would like to place user friendliness at the heart of our communications tools, and, when possible, deliver content that is tailored to an alumnus’ or alumna’s interests.

I don’t want to limit alumni relations to recreating the past, however much I value nostalgia and reconnecting with classmates. My hope is to generate an excitement for what school is today as well as opportunities to continue growing and learning within this unique community.

Anything you’re particularly excited about as you start this role?

My rotating office! A change of scenery tends to ignite my creativity, and I am really happy to be able to work from all three campuses to better understand and reflect each one’s distinct culture. I am also excited to inherit such a great foundation from you, Thaïs, so thank you for everything you’ve done for Ecolint’s alumni!

Thank you, Elizabeth, and it has been a real pleasure to serve the Ecolint Community these past few years. They are a community full of fascinating stories, life paths, and experiences, and I know you will love developing new ways to connect them with their alma mater and one another. I know I leave this unique community in able hands, and I am looking forward to seeing it grow under your leadership. And to you, Ecolint alumni from all over the globe, thank you for your enthusiasm, commitment, and love for the school - it has been an honour to get to know and work with so many of you. Do keep in touch!
