Giving Back to Ecolint
Share |
Ecolint holds a special place in the hearts and minds of thousands of alumni throughout the world. For many the years spent at LGB, La Châtaigneraie or in Pregny and Grand-Saconnex are among the happiest and most memorable periods of their lives. The Ecolint Alumni are therefore the Foundation's best asset, enhancing its reputation and contributing to its continued success.

Depending on your circumstances, you may be in a position to give something back to Ecolint. There are many ways in which you can support the Foundation, having already taken the first step by showing your continued interest through visiting this website!

Ways to give back

Alumni Life

The school employs a full-time Alumni Officer, but it is you - the alumni - that bring life and energy to the community. Whether you're based in Geneva or elsewhere in the world, you can help by contributing content to this website and on the various social platforms run for Ecolint alumni, by attending and assisting with the organisation of reunions and other social or professional events, or by getting involved with the running of a local chapter.

Please send any ideas you might have for alumni-related activities to - don't be shy!

The Alumni Association is also open to hearing from those that might like to get involved, perhaps by volunteering to join the Central Committee.

Guidance and Careers

There are many areas in which alumni can be involved in day-to-day life at Ecolint. The Guidance teams on each campus are dedicated to helping students identify the best third level institutions for them to attend - your experiences can be of great value in this regard. In the first place it will help if you complete your Member Profile so that we know which institutions you attended and the areas you studied.

We also may contact you from time to time requesting further information. This could be in the form of a general survey or a direct request for advice and information based on your specific experience. By being responsive to such requests you can really help our Guidance teams to give the best possible advice to tomorrow's alumni.

Alumni in the Classroom

For the Alumni World Reunion 2014 we invited you to volunteer to visit a classroom and speak to students. We now want to run this activity on an on-going basis.

It's an opportunity for you to meet with current students and tell them about the time you spent at Ecolint and what you've done since. What are your fondest memories? What experience has been most useful for your subsequent life and career? You may also have some questions of your own for the students.

We are in the process of putting a structure in place to manage this activity, but if you're interested in visiting a classroom in future, please do get in touch.

Gifts & Donations

Over the past decade or so Ecolint has been able to offer fantastic new facilities to students across our three campuses. The entirely new school at Grand-Saconnex, the new Primary school and sports facilities at La Châtaigneraie, and the new Centre des arts at LGB were all funded at least 25% via donations, from parents, corporate bodies and alumni. The Foundation, which is a not-for-profit organization, cannot afford to engage in capital development without support from fundraising.

You can give back by making an annual gift, or even better, an ongoing monthly gift. This support is vital and, if contributed via either the Ecolint-American Foundation or the Friends of the International School of Geneva Trust in the UK, is tax-deductible.  We would be happy to discuss how you can put the school in your estate planning as well (see brochure (ENG), (FR), so that future generations of students can have the same enriching experience that you enjoyed.

You can contact our Fundraising Associate Brian Wahlen by email ( or telephone (+41 22 787 2619).
